I haven't been posting for while since I joined WoW.
I also have new family responsibilities.
I do think that FFXI holidays are better than WoW's. I miss my taru in her pumpkin hat and the bat wand.

What I miss about FFXI

+ Goldfish Scooping.
+ The ease of creating a LS (aka, guild, group ect.....).
+ The bazzar.
+ The /anon function.
+ Being able to pt with the same reliable players.
+ Tarus.
+ Being able to have all the jobs and tradeskills with the same character.
+ Fishing.
+ Chocobos.
+ The patriotism players felt for his/her own home country (Windurst, San d'Oria, Bastok).
+ Monsters that won't attack you due to your lvl.
+ Making a profit at the AH by paying the lowest transaction fee on items you're selling.
+ The Mog House and buying furniture.

If I want to listen to music but not sure what to listen too, I will listen to the FFXI soundtrack.

I've been gone from FFXI for so long that I can't mentally picture how to check the quest log or how to obtain and hand in quests. How do I identify the NPCs with quests? I remember the quests are organized by area/country.

And I can't recall the place that connect from Ronfure? It's the place with the huts. It's what blah blah is to Ronfure what Giddeus is to Saru. So sad. I might just go over the Brady guide for memories.

I have 37 points in goldfish scooping. I'm saving up for 50 and then 80 points to get the 'mystery box' . 2 of my scoops broke but I did get a lionhead.

I've been doing teles from Jeuno and I've been trying to get Pinch Of Valkurm Sunsand for a Bastok quest. I've heard I can buy it from the AH so I might just do that if I get tired of waiting for a sandstorm in the Dunes.

If I lvl a melee job, I'd probably choose thf because of Treasure Hunter.

I completed 4 Sandy quests, performed 1 tele and my NPC friend gained a lvl.

I still have many many other quests to complete in various areas.

I should do another supply quest since I haven't done one in while. Also, I may try to get the tele-crystal in Yhoat (or whatever it's called, the one in the jungle).

I believe I can delete my mules in about a week as I'm almost done selling the excess items. I bought Tele-altep (sp) and Dia II. Now I only have about 5k gils left.

I've been trying to get rid of extra items by selling them in Jeuno for 50 gils. I was in Lower and the Gardens. No sales so I went to Port Jeuno and reduced the price to 10 gils/items. It worked and most of my items are gone.

I'm planning to delete my Bastok mule since I'm not on FFXI as much. I am keeping my Sandy mule because I like the character's name.

I was in Jeuno and had to sell stuff so I used their AH despite the high transaction fees. I was selling earth crystals. Back in the day, they were selling for 100 gils for a single crystal. Today, they were 500 gils, for 1 earth crystal. So I sold them for 99 gils. Why can players farm for stuff like that, crystals aren't that hard to farm and most players should have a low lvl job that they can use in newbie areas.

I went farming in Saru and Batallia Downs as a whm33/thf15 with the Wonder gear. I also used my NPC friend and Empress Band and got about 100 exp. I think it's easier for me to solo in Batallia than in Sauromugue Champaign.

It's been a while since I logged on to FFXI but I did log on last week to check out the Christmas event. It's hard finding players that match your card. I had one for a 40's WAR and a 70's BRD. I dropped them both. I do want the Dream Robe or Dream Robe +1 to match my Dream Hat +1.

Sanctuary, SAM quest

I logged out right in front of the ??? that I need to chop off with a hachet for the SAM quest. I really want to lvl my NPC but it's going really slow.

I completed one part of the SAM quest, the Oriental Steel part.

I have been to the Sanctuary but forgot a hachet so I couldn't kill the Tree.

I did do a supply quest in the Sanctuary.

I overworked my NPC so she disappeared.

I can solo EPs/low defense and/or low evasion in the zone right outside of Jeuno. I will test out solo'ing with NPC if I can't find a PT for whm.

I solo'ed Midnight Wings/bats, so happy.

I was unable to become part of a complete party and did not lvl whm. /cry
I don't have the time to wait for over an hour when I could be doing other things in the game like hunting/farming, quests, missions, lvl'ing other jobs.

I haven't sucessfully partied yet with my whm33 and I need to lvl up to complete the Fellowship quest.

I did ding at lvl 10 with smn.

I tried to form my own party to lvl whm. We disbanded since we couldn't find enough member. I had Party Seek up and got an invite. We were looking for our last member, a tank but no luck. So I left the PT and went to lvl my hume.

My hume is now War10 so I might lvl this job a bit more before going back to mnk.

Oh and then I went to farm with smn.

Hume mnk is lvl 18 and completed the sub-job quest. My hume is lvling WAR since WAR is only lvl 7 and would like to get it to 10 before lvling some more. I think I could still lvl in the Dunes or maybe try Qufim. Oh, then at lvl 20 I can do the chocobo quest.

My whm (taru) is now 1k over lvl 33 and would like to solo some more before PTing again.

I still don't have the pitchfork.

Right now, I've been lvling smn, a change. But the pet commands weren't working which was frustrating, not being able to call or release Carbuncle.

I went to the Citadel for the very first time 2 says ago. I was not told of the holes, ie, avoid them. I fell down, got KO'ed, had ReRaise, but got KO'ed again while trying to run to safety. I HP'ed to Jeuno.

I choco'ed back to the Citadel and things were going alright but then I'm guessing we pulled a bat that was too hard and most of us died. Oh and that's when I deleveled. We were futher down into the Citadel, around the SE area. Most of us HP'ed back to Jeuno.

We stayed by the zone, the Saurm-blah Champ-blah & Citadel zone and things were going well. I got my lvl back but then someone had to go and the PT disbanded.

I wanted 2k exp over my current lvl so I put up my Seek Party flag. I got an invite and they wanted to PT in the Crawlers Nest. Crazy, since I haven't even mastered the Citadel, so I left the PT.

I'm about 600 over my current lvl.

I wasn't a happy taru so I did some mule stuff and logged out for the day.

I know I'll need to go back to the Citadel, unless there another place where a 33whm can party in.

I might try to form my own PT in the Citadel now that I've had a taste of that, that place.

I had a map of the Citadel which helped. I don't have a map of the Crawlers Nest, another reason why I don't want to go there yet.

Both PT leaders appeared to know what they were doing so that was good.

I was unable to complete the Mirror Mirror quest. I died 2x and my NPC died 2x.
I will attempt the quest on Friday. I will try and lvl whm some more and find people who haven't done the quest to help me fight the NM in Ghelsha.

Oh and I still haven't been able to obtain Pitchfork, Pitchfork +1, Treat Staff or Trick Staff II.

I did get Pumpkin Head II.

I enjoying playing whm/thf. I've been using a staff while hunting and I still get Staff skill ups taking on TW with High Defense.

My thf is now lvl 15. Sneak Attack is great when you get it right, 99 dmg as a taru.
I have seen anything spiffy drop or notice an increase in drop rate yet with Treasure Hunter. My highest job so far is 33 whm so I might have fun hunting as a whm/thf and maybe see if I get any PT invites with this sub-job.

Items are selling in all countries, including Jeuno. However, I still have 7 Crossbow Bolt from my Marksmenship days (I switched to Archery) that I cannot sell. Even for 1 gil at the AH, the bolts still won't sell.

Lvl 10 rdm.

I've been selling some items in Jeuno to free up inventory space on my character and it seems to be working. The transaction fee is high but I have no other choice.

However, my stacks of Earth Crystals are not selling in my bazaar though my prices are 400-500 gils less than the AH prices.

I made a Rabbit Mantle. I got the Grass Thread for the Mantle from a Goblin Weaver.

Hunting Weavers for their Grass Thread will sure cut costs down for crafting items.

I was hunting bees for their crystals as a bard, got KO'ed twice so I changed to rdm/whm, which was way more sucessful. I have all the wind crystals I require and need to go to Sandy to hunt more sheep.

Oh, while hunting with bard, song skills hit 20.

I've been making a ton of Leather Bandanas with leatherworking but they aren't selling at the AH's. Once I've used up all the 'ingredients' for the Bandanas I'll try the Rabbit Mantles.

I leveled thf to 14. I've made Leather Bandanas, Sheep Leather and Vagabond Gloves using Leather craft.

I bought dark crystals from Windy as it was taking too much time farming them in Ronfure. Windy had cheaper crystals than Sandy. The joys of having mules in other countries.

So I think Leathercraft will be my new craft for now and I'll be taking a break from fishing. Maybe my hume monk will take up fishing.

I've been trying out Leathercrafting. It's been hard hunting Fungars for their dark crystals. So far the mobs have only dropped 2, that's 2 crystals for me.

I completed Gobbie V and bought all the item but one for Gobbie VI. Which means I have 100k less. Which means lvling thf and hunting for drops (aka 'farming').

Thf is now lvl 13, subbing WAR.

Oh, I also went to Norg to activate the SAM quest. I didn't realize how big Norg was.

My hume monk is now level 14, Rank 2 and ended up with a workable party in the Dunes.

I was looking for Ice Spikes for my blm. It was 30k in Windurst. I bought it for 19k in San d'Oria. I love price shopping.

I hope to do the Power Gi quest for my hume monk.

I haven't leveled whm is so long and miss whm, just a little bit.
